The director of *47 Ronin* faces severe legal consequences after a Manhattan federal court found him guilty of wire fraud and money laundering. Prosecutors secured convictions on multiple counts, each carrying maximum sentences of 10 to 20 years. Sentencing is scheduled for April 2026.

Netflix paid $44 million between 2018 and 2019 for a sci-fi series titled *White Horse*, later transferring an additional $11 million in 2020. Instead of completing the project, the director allegedly diverted funds through multiple bank accounts. The case highlights financial misconduct risks in high-budget entertainment ventures.
